Irish Badminton Open, December 2013
The Transition Years and Mr. Burke were doing a fantastic job as line judges at the Irish Badminton Open in the Badminton Centre in Baldoyle. Many thanks to Mr. Fennell for organising our participation in this presidious event.
Scott Evans bid to retain the men's singles title at the Carlton Irish Badminton Open ended this morning, 6 December, in Baldoyle when he lost in the quarter-finals against Lukas Schmidt of Germany.

Ireland’s Chloe Magee won a tough three set match over French number one Vignes Warren. After losing the first set Magee fought back winning the 3rd set 21-18. Magee now faces Chinese American Beiwan.
Last year's women's champion Line Kjaersfeldt of Denmark who beat Chloe Magee in the final is also out. She lost a see-saw quarter-final match to Beiwen Zhang America. Unfortunately, in the semi final, Chloe Magee went out to Chinese American Beiwan Zhang in straight sets. Nevertheless, it was another creditable performance by Chloe. |
Transition Years with Spaniard Pablo Abian, who put out top seed Ville Lang of Finland on Thursday, continued to progress beating seventh seed Niluka Karunaratne of Sri Lanka on Friday morning. In the semi-finals later in the day, he will play Dierte Domke of Germany who beat Dutch player Erick Meijs.
