Haiti Fundraising in
St. Mary’s Secondary School, Baldoyle
St. Mary’s Secondary School, recently held a non uniform colours day in aid of the earthquake victims in Haiti. Each year group were associated with a particular colour from the Rainbow, for example the Fifth Years wore Green items and the Second Years wore Red/Pink items. The Fundraising was organised by the various Year Heads and the Student Council. It was a most successful fundraiser as over €1,100 was raised. The money raised has been sent to GOAL.
There was also a raffle held which was organised by Mr. Moore and various First and Second Year Students. A further €140 was raised. All the many prizes for the raffle were donated. Dr. Michael Woods, TD, dropped in to pick the winning raffle tickets. He spoke to the girls about his work regarding the coordination of various aid programmes to Haiti and thanked the girls for their fundraising efforts.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed, helped or donated prizes towards the fundraising.
