Northside Woman on board the Male Train

Following completion of her Mechanical Engineering Degree in Bolton Streer, former student, Helena Bowes, recently became the first female to be employed by Iarnrod Eireann to work on the new DART rolling stock in the Fairview Depot. 

Helena is responsible for the testing procedures on the new carriages due to toll out in November 2000.  Helena will travel to China to monitor the construction of a second batch of new carriages.  Helena is the only female in a workforce of over 100 males who "are all good craic and don't go on about it".
