Carol Singing - Christmas 2018 - Page in development
What an extremely busy week for all our Choirs. The Music Department has been working very hard rehearsing and has had many requests to go carol singing and fundraise where possible. Many thanks to Ms. Sheridan, Ms. Morgan, Ms. Hannon and Mr. Ryan and a huge thanks to the students who have been great.
First Years
The First Year Choir meets every Monday as part of our WellBeing Programme. Many thanks to Ms. Morgan, Ms. Hannon and Mr. Ryan. Since the start of December, they have been rehearsing and practising Christmas Carols.
Their first public outing was to Donaghmede Shopping Centre on Monday 17 December.. Many thanks to Pat McCabe, the Manager who also allowed us to fundraise for the Baldoyle Meals on Wheels Scheme run by the Baldoyle Family Resource Centre.
The girls travelled by the 29A to the centre and arrived around 12 noon accompanied by Ms. Hannon, Mr. Ryan and Ms. Smyth. They set up in a prominent position in the centre, got organised and assumed position. Their first public outing in a busy shopping centre full of Christmas shoppers. Once the first song was completed, nerves were banished, confidence grew and the volume increased. They were fantastic and kept everyone entertained until the finished at 1.40 pm The girls received a huge number of compliments and in the process raised €278 for Baldoyle Meals on Wheels.
Well done girls on a fantastic effort. You have already been booked for December 2019.
Full of confidence from Monday's expereince, the First Year's headed off to St. Patrick's Nursing Home on Tuesday to keep the resident's entertained. They were accompanied by Ms. Hannon, Mr. Ryan and Ms. Scallan. As expected, it was another polished performance much to the delight of the residents.
Well done everyone!
