Visit
When we arrived at Oriflame, we got a lovely welcome and we were given an insight into Oriflame. They do not sell their make up to companies like Boots and sell most of their products to eastern European countries.
During the tour it was interesting to see how peoples' taste in make up varies in different parts of the world. At the start of the tour, we saw the intensive quality control the different products go through before they can be sold. The products are tested at many different temperatures and humidities. They even have a ‘hand bag simulator’ to test how lipsticks endure being in peoples hand bags.
It was also interesting to see what kinds of things go into making different foundations and lipsticks to get certain colours. What I thought was most interesting was seeing how a product goes from being an idea to being mass produced. We also saw some of the machines that are used to test if a product is suitable for mass production. We even got to make our own lipsticks in the pilot lab! I thought it was very good to see what it’s like to work in a lab.
It was a great trip and thanks to Ms. Duffy for organising the visit and we all left with lots of lovely free samples!
