Third Year Visit to Explorium
13 November 2019
The Explorium in Sandyford is a truly unique, world class experience, where science and sport fuse. It is a place to challenge your mind, test your agility and feed your curiosity.

There are more then 300 eye popping interactive science and STEM experiences. Some of what our girls did include, defying gravity in the amazing Gravity Rooms, the Marker's Lab and the science demo in the auditorium, as well as loads more. Trips like these, where the girls get to interact with science are so important, as interactive learning is good for memory retention, improves understanding and encourages curiosity.

Curiosity comes to life in the Markers Lab, where creativity, science and art collide. The girls learned the fundamentals of engineering while getting crafty in a Markers Lab workshop. They learned about electric circuits and Piezo buzzers by making a wire game. During the Demo show in the auditorium they where within a few feet of mother nature's most exciting phenomenon.

The Explorium's one of a kind Lighting Room brings bolts of lighting from the sky into the room right before our eyes. The Lighting Room contains Ireland's First Tesla Coil. The Tesla Coil generates high frequency, huge voltage electricity, and huge electromagnetic fields that made our jaws drop.
