Introduction to Subject
In the History Department in St. Mary’s Secondary School, Baldoyle, we endeavour to foster a genuine interest in the subject amongst the pupils in the school.
We strive to promote a spirit of enquiry into the past, identifying its relevance to the present.
We endeavour to provide students with a deep understanding of events and people to offer a sense of context, perspective and appreciation about the society they live in, both past and present.
In addition, we consider its study essential for good citizenship, helping students understand the operation of people and societies on a local, national and international level.
