Junior Certificate Exam Timetable 2020
The State Examinations Commission is responsible for the development, assessment, accreditation and certification of the second-level examinations of the Irish state: the Junior Certificate and the Leaving Certificate.

​The State Examinations Commission is a non-departmental public body under the aegis of the Department of Education and Skills.

first years

All First Year Exams
are ONE Hour long.


Students should write to the end of the exam. If finished a bit early, you should be adding in bits where you can and you should be checking everything.
​
​One extra mark could be the mark needed to get that A grade

SECOND Years

In general, all Second Year Exams last ONE Hour and THIRTY Minutes.

Higher Level Maths is Two and A half Hours and Ordinary Level Maths is Two Hours.  

​Higher Level Irish is Two Hours

Fifth Years

All Fifth Year Exams
are TWO hours long
except for
Higher Level Maths and Irish which are both
​Two Hours and Thirty Minutes long
Exam conditions are observed. Absolutely no talking during the exams.
