Good luck to the Second Year Premier Basketball Team - Wednesday 6 November - away match Manor House - tipoff at 11.30 - Come on St. Mary's!  All support welcome.  Coaches Mr. Fennell and Ms. Sinnott

Hard luck today - lost 28-37.  Got off to a slow start and were 17 points behind early on.  The team worked hard and managed to get back to just 3 points behind.  However, a big finish by Manor House enabled them to pull away.  A fine performance and the girls will be better next time.




The Second Years scored an excellent 36-24 win on 18 November 2013, away to Dominican College, Griffith Avenue.  St. Mary's got off to a flyer when Leah Campbell opened the scoring but Dominican fought back.  St. Mary's defended superbly and from breaks were soon 7 Nil ahead with baskets from Nicole Carr and Shauna Murray.

In the second quarter, Dominican upped their game and were back in the game but a number of fighting points from Lauren Barker and Alanna Egan were badly needed.

In the third quarter, a score by Rachel Dipeolu lifted St. Marys' spirits and they got stronger and stronger to run out deserved winners.  It was a great all round team performance with Shauna Murray scoring 11 poinys and Alanna Egan scoring 8 points.  All the players made their own contribution - Shannon Lenihan, nIkta Lenihan, Maria Malina, Aine Ryan, Beri Njolai, Rebecca Kelly and Chonalyn Abrique.  The MVP was Alanna Egan and well deservred it was to!

Well done St. Mary's and thanks to the coaches, Mr. Fennell and Ms. Mealey.
