St. Mary's Student Council
The Student Council gives our students a democratic voice. It consists of one student elected from each class, together with the Head Girl and Deputy Head Girl. The Student Council meets regularly and works to improve school life for the benefit of all students.

School Council Achievements 2017/18
· Parent Teacher Meetings – council members in charge of organsing refreshments for parents.
· St. Vincent De Paul – each council member encouraged their form class to bring in items for the hampers. The members collected and made the hampers on behalf of their class.
· Christmas Jumper Day – The council organised for each student to wear a Christmas jumper and bring in €2 for Crumlin’s Children Hospital. Approximately €350 raised.
· Regular Meetings - Council meet at least once a month to discuss further plans and reflect on previous tasks to ensure they are constantly improving.
School Council Ideas 2017/18:
· Zumba Day - Laura Lynn Foundation.
· Changing rooms to be emptied of chairs. Is it possible to use small library as changing area? PE gear all day.
· Students Toilets: Doors and seats to be fixed and sanitary bins needed in every cubicle
· Coat racks in classrooms.
· Motion sensor lightbulbs / energy saving bulbs in classrooms and toilets to save electricity.
· Meditation rooms to be used.
· Microwave in the canteen for student use.

· Classrooms to be repainted.
