We already had the National Flag presented to us in March 2015 by the Thomas Meagher Foundation.
The girls were delighted to see Olympic Boxer Paddy Barnes, Irish Women's Rugby Captain, Niamh Briggs and Kilkenny Hurler, Paul Murphy who helped to distribute the Proclamations.
Ryan Tubridy opened the proceedings.

President Michael D. Higgins addressed the gathering and noted that the Tricolour Flag, which was little known at the time of the 1916 Rising, "rapidly became accepted as the unquestioned symbol of the Irish Independence movement"
Thomas Meagher, one of the Young Irelanders, modified the symbol of revolutionary France to suit the Irish context and the flag was first flown in Waterford in 1848.
