School Walk SEPTEMBER 2009
Pink Walk Day September 2009 had a double function. St. Mary's wanted to raise an Awareness of Breast Cancer and the walk would be the annual School Fundraiser. All our students wore something pink to raise awareness of breast cancer.
Many passer-bys had a good look and wondered at the girls in their pink attire all walking along the promenade down to the Dollymount Causeway and back.
The walk is an important school fundraiser aimed at providing general resources for the school. From the funds, we also agreed to donate €500 to Breast Action Awareness.
Many thanks to Baldoyle Print and Mortgage Horizons who sponsored the Walk Cards.
Particular thanks to all our first years in St. Maedbh's and St. Brid's who raised a tremendous amount of money but third year class, St. Philip's, led the way, winning for the third time in a row. They earned a half day for their efforts. Well done girls!
Many thanks to all the students, parents, sponsors and teachers.
