All First Years visited the RDS on Friday 11th January 2019 to attend the BT Young Scientist& Technology Exhibition. This annual event showcases projects from schools all over the country , this year over 1800 projects were submitted with 55% of entrants female ,with a significant increase of 62% in the number of girls qualifying in the chemical, physical and mathematical sciences category this year .
Let's hope the girls were inspired by all the wonderful projects !!
The exhibition gives students the opportunity to mingle with schools from all over the country and is the highlight of the Science year . The Education Minister Joe McHugh was pleased to see students tackling some of the most important issues from climate change to health .
